“ YOUNG PEOPLE ACTIVE CITIZENS OF EUROPE”
2ND YEAR

PLENARY MEETING IN SERPA- PORTUGAL
13- 16 MAY 2008

Another year of the project has passed and the partnership among our schools has become stronger with more and more relevant and involving activities.
Our delegation at the plenary meeting at the “ Escola Secundaria de Serpa”, in Serpa, Portugal ,was composed of 4 teachers and 4 students. The teachers ‘group included Maria Luisa Cusumano ( project coordinator), Antonella Chiloiro ( teacher of English), Nicla Bruni ( teacher of Italian) and Giulio Franco ( IT expert).
The students ‘delegation was made up of Federica Lombardo, Fabiana Saccone, Stefano D’Amico and Andrea Petrosino. It was the first time they took part in an international meeting abroad and they were enthusiastic about this experience.

During the meeting the hosting school welcomed us with several interesting activities such as the dramatization of a popular portugese play, traditional games in the gym , a poetry section and a show of “Fadu”, the typical melodic music of the region Alentejo.

The sightseeing tours to Monserat and Ebola enriched the cultural knowledge of the hosting country and provided nice occasions for a better socialization among participants.

So the best comment on the experience is theirs.
STUDENTS: Really amazing, we spoke English all the time and learned a lot of things. We were sad on the leaving day because we had to say good bye to my new friends. The hosting families were wonderful and we felt at home with them. We are waiting for our friends to come to Italy next year. Thank you very much to the Portugese teachers, Laura Santoeira, the coordinator for Portugal and our teachers too.

Thanks to SOCRATES for this opportunity
